How to decide on tooth shape and color in Smile Design?

In smile design, we evaluate our client’s current facial profile, lip position and gum levels and create digital designs. We produce 3D mock-up models from digital designs with our printer devices. We transfer our mock-up models to the oral environment with temporary materials.

Now, we have temporarily transferred the designs made by our doctors and technicians after examining and evaluating all the data we have into our patients’ mouths. In this way, our patients have ideas about what kind of tooth form they will encounter as a result of the smile design.

In terms of color, we use the color scales of the world’s best ceramic powder manufacturers Vita and İvoclar in line with our patient’s current skin color and expectations.

How are measurements taken in Smile Design?

We no longer take old-fashioned manual measurements in our clinic. We do not perform impression taking processes with impression trays and paste-like materials due to both the lack of manual measurement precision and patient comfort.

Our clinic has the CEREC system, a Dentsplay-Sirona product. Thanks to this, we take our intraoral measurements with the camera in the most precise way. We also carry out our design, planning and production on the same system with the highest quality blocks, without any data loss, in a precise and aesthetic way.

Smile Design is a maximum 7-day treatment from planning to cementation if a full mouth work is to be done.

How much tooth abrasion is done in Smile Design?

In Smile Design, the amount of abrasion on the teeth is determined by the materials we will use. In ceramic laminate applications, a very small abrasion of 0.2-0.5 mm can be done, while in zirconium applications, a relatively larger abrasion of 0.5-2 mm can be done.
